Easy Bell Pepper and Tuna Miso Salad

A quick and colorful side dish made with red and yellow bell peppers, canned tuna, miso and sesame oil.
It comes together in just a few minutes and works well as a small side for rice, lunch boxes or everyday meals.
Ingredients / Serves 2
Ingredient | Amount |
Red bell pepper | 1/2 |
Yellow bell pepper | 1/2 |
Canned tuna in water | 40 g |
Miso | 2 teaspoons |
Sesame oil | 1 teaspoon |
Parsley | As needed |
Method
1. Slice the bell peppers
Remove the seeds and stems from the bell peppers, then slice them thinly.
2. Microwave with tuna
Place the sliced bell peppers and tuna in a heatproof bowl.Cover lightly with plastic wrap and microwave at 500W for about 2 minutes.
3. Season
While still warm, add the miso and sesame oil.Mix well until the miso is evenly combined.
4. Serve
Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with parsley.
Tips
Drain the tuna lightly before using so the flavor does not become watery.Adding the miso after heating helps keep its aroma and flavor.
If you prefer not to use a microwave, heat the sesame oil in a frying pan and sauté the bell peppers until softened. Add the tuna and miso, mix well, and serve.
Notes
In Japan, one bell pepper is usually around 150 g.One teaspoon is 5 ml.
